Somerset Conservatives are proud to announce an experienced, dedicated and energetic group of candidates that will contest the seats in the Taunton Deane constituency area in the forthcoming County Council elections.
The Conservatives are standing on a platform of low council tax, high investment into Somerset and Quality services. They have already announced ambitious plans for the County and the local area which include:-
· A New University for Somerset
· Upgrading of the Toneway corridor
· Developing a rapid transport system along the A38 corridor
· Deliver an upgraded Taunton station
· Reducing congestion by developing the Park and Ride infrastructure

Jason Woollacott (Bishops Hull and Taunton West ) is a well known Taunton resident who has vast experience as a Parish Councillor and School Governor
John Thorne (Blackdown and Neroche) Town councillor in Wellington and former Deane councillor for the Blackdowns.
Andrew Sully (Comeytrowe and Trull) has a strong record of community involvement and is keen to bring the benefits of this experience to the residents of Comeytrowe & Trull..
Roger Habgood (Lydeard) is a hard working experienced Councillor who knows how work in a team to get things done
David Fothergill (Monkton and North Curry) has been a County Councillor for eight years and puts the Community at the heart of his decision making
Rod Williams (Rowbarton and Staplegrove) A well-known local resident who cares about both Rowbarton and Staplegrove and who will capably work to ensure its is a much better place to live
Stephen Martin-Scott (Taunton East), has a strong record of local achievement - particularly in relation to parking matters - he wants to bring his enthusiasm and experience to addressing the concerns of those living in area.
Giuseppe Fraschini (Taunton North) went to nearby Heathfield School and has built a successful business career. He has a passion for the community and an in depth understanding of local Government
Luke Parchment (Taunton South) was educated at Richard Hush College and now works locally. He is committed to ensuring that all parts of South Taunton are given a voice.
James Hunt (Upper Tone) has represented the area for the past four years and is also a local District Councillor.
Robin Dickenson (Wellington) is a local candidate who supports the County plan and is keen to see Wellington benefit
Over the last 8 years the Conservatives are proud to have frozen council tax for 6 years, delay with the crippling Lib Dem £350 million debt and invested more money than ever in our Adults and Childrens Social Services.
