Latest figures show Conservative run Somerset County Council has filled more than 100,000 potholes since the last election.
The stat comes after the Council released an online tool for residents to report potholes and receive an alert when they’ve been fixed.
Tackling potholes has just been one infrastructure priority for our Somerset Conservative team - now we're committing to making journeys safer and quicker too.
Transport spokesperson, John Woodman, said “We’ve made great progress improving the infrastructure here in the last five years. Investing £65m into highways, upgrading more than half of main road lighting to efficient LEDs, and of course filling potholes.”
“But we want to build on that progress. And that’s why one of our key pledges for the upcoming elections is to increase our investment in our roads – including major schemes like the Walton to Ashcott bypass and J22 roundabout at Edithmead.”
