The Somerset Conservatives are bringing forward new housing plans that would shake-up property developments across our County.
For too long, new developments haven’t worked for existing local residents. And that needs to change.
If elected in May, we’re pledging a “right homes in the right places” policy that would see new emphasis put on developments to deliver for residents. That means working with developers to place homes in unobtrusive places and to enforce the building of supportive infrastructure, like roads, schools and GP surgeries, with new sites.
Housing spokesperson, David Hall, said “We know we need to build more homes. But they have to work for local people. That means making developers build new infrastructure alongside any new property developments, so residents don’t have their existing services disrupted. But it also means that new homes have to be affordable for the people that already live in our area.”
