Rural bus services connect people across Somerset in an affordable and environmentally friendly way. Expanding these services is a priority for residents — and it’s a priority for Somerset Conservatives too.
That’s why the Somerset Conservatives have lodged a new £163m bid with the government for a bus improvement scheme.
The plan would see money invested into upgrading stations and stops – whilst better connecting busses to local rail services.
The investment would also aim to secure a 7am-7pm hourly service across the County, making sure the bus network offers a fully functional alternative to cars.
Somerset County Council has a strong record of improving transport under Conservative leadership – and they’re redoubling their commitment to improving things by asking local residents what services they want to see improved. If you have an improvement to suggest, email the team: [email protected]
