I have lived in Somerset for nearly thirty years and came here via Cambridge, London and Surrey.
Currently, other than this new post, I only work one day a week at the BRI. I have a degree from UCL and a PGCE from Bristol. I am a mother of three adult sons.
I am keen to see Glastonbury improve in terms of anti social behaviour and ‘encampments’. I also want to ensure that the ‘Town Fund’ money be properly used and in a manner such as to benefit the majority, rather than the few. I have a lot of experience in building and planning and am interested to use this to help the town develop both in terms of housing, commercial property and also in works in the town center itself, around the Abbey and current car parking areas. I will use my knowledge of education to take an overview of what is happening in schools as well as ‘education other than at school’ and general care and well-being of young people. I am an open and friendly woman, comfortable in most settings. I don’t like red tape or excuses. I have an unstoppable ‘can do’ attitude. The answer is never ‘no’ it is ‘how’; I believe firmly that those who are not part of finding and working towards a solution are in fact part of the problem.
